This pot was not made to be beautiful. It was made to be useful — and that is precisely what makes it beautiful.
Handcrafted from Niger River clay, this ancient Mali jar belongs to one of the oldest ceramic traditions in West Africa. Its slightly asymmetric pear-shaped body, grainy surface in pale ochre and pink tones, narrow neck with a reddish-brown rim — everything reflects a craft gesture with nothing between the earth and the hand.
Dimensions: height 9 cm / 3.5 in. — width 10 cm / 3.9 in. — neck opening 6 cm / 2.4 in. — weight approx. 250 g / 8.8 oz.
